Seed Capital, or seed funding, refers to an initial investment in an early stage startup from an Angel Investor, Institutional Seed Fund, or the company’s founders, friends and family. These investments typically range from a couple thousand to a couple hundred thousand (depending on industry) and cover things like product development, market validation, and hiring key team members.
